1. What structure would you like to draw?

2. How to draw it? The setup charge ($95) covers any combination of these styles:

Backbone style example

Backbone
Trace the alpha carbons with line segments or a smooth spline.

Wireframe style example

Each bond is a line segment.

Ribbon style example

Ribbon
A ribbon whose width varies with the curvature.

Cartoon style example

Curved arrows show each helix and sheet, with thin coils connecting them.

Sphere style example

Spheres
Accents for significant atoms, such as metal ions.

Spacefill style example

Spacefill
Spheres for each atom are united to form a volume.

3. What size and shape should the glass be?

These are the most popular shapes we stock. Each can be used in either portrait or landscape orientation. Some may suit your structure better than others; we're happy to advise.

4. How many pieces? Quantities over 25 may qualify for discounts.

5. Options

Does your model have a molecular surface? ($40)

Surfaces may cover part or all of the protein. They are translucent, so the structure within can be seen clearly; this can be a remarkably beautiful effect.

How about a text legend? ($10)

Add a name, occasion, PDB code, or message. How much text will fit depends on how large your block is: usually a few words to a few lines. If you have a font in mind, please let us know that too.

A lighted display stand?

These set off the structure with a light bright enough for daytime/office viewing. They have a polished black finish, with white LEDs that stay cool and don't use much power.

Stands are available to fit most blocks in most orientations, $20 to $40 depending on size.
